Moving Pulse eCommerce or Lockbox to a New Server
Getting a new server, adding servers, or retiring an old one? Four things need to move with Pulse eCommerce or Pulse Lockbox. Plan each one and the cut-over is uneventful — exactly how migrations should be.
1. Program files
Decide where the program files will live on the new server and move them there.
2. The Windows service
If you use the unattended (automatic) edition, its Windows service runs alongside the program files — when the program files move, the service moves too and must be reinstalled on the new server.
3. The Pulse database
The software keeps its settings in a Pulse SQL database. If the old database server is going away, copy the Pulse database to the new SQL server.
4. Macola® company databases
Any Macola® company databases that eCommerce or Lockbox connects to must be present on the new SQL server if the old SQL server is being decommissioned — and the connections updated accordingly.
